Week 3: The Phins Shock The World, and The Pats, Bills in 1st Place.

Well after week 3 certain things are now true; Matt Cassell is not Tom Brady. The Bills are for real, The Giants still have that Super Bowl Swagger, The Broncos have the best quarter back RIGHT NOW, and Aaron Rodgers is not Brett Farve but he isn't too bad himself.

Some other things to note following the conclusion of week 3, The Cowboys have a very lethal offense, The Saints have potential to be right there with the Cowboys in terms of offensive potency, Brett Favre isn't the same QB with gang green, How Lane Kiffin still has a job is beyond me and the Tennessee Titans are the best team in the AFC South.

Now on to the recaps, Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams single handedly destroyed the New England Patriots and that very old defense. They could not stop the run if their lives depended on it. The single I Wing formation that Miami was throwing out there really confused the Pats and it showed. Ronnie Brown under center, Chad Pennington Wide right, Ricky Williams wide left then motioned for a fake hand off and BOOM there goes Ronnie. This EXACT SAME PLAY worked 4 times for touchdowns. Then one time this same set up was made but this time Brown decided to play QB and as he rolled out left he found Anthony Fasano for a 19 yard score. Ronnie Brown had 4 rushing touchdowns and 1 throwing. Ricky Williams contributed with 98 yards rushing of his own to follow up Brown's 113. Joey Porter backed up his big mouth pre game with 2 sacks on Cassell as the Dolphins blow out the Pats 38-13.

Matt Ryan once again led the Falcons to victory. Roddy White broke out of his slumber this season and had a great game, 117 yards and a score. Michael "The Burner" Turner bounces back from his poor week 2 performance with a 23 carry 104 yard performance and oh year 3 more touchdowns. Only bright spot for the Chiefs was Larry Johnson who rushed for 121 yards and a touchdown as the Chiefs lose big 38-14.

The Bills are the story of the year. 3-0 for the first time since 1992 and Trent Edwards is leading this team like a veteran. Now this game against Oakland was not pretty and both teams did not play well but when it counted in the 4th quarter. Bills special teams and defense is what's winning them games, Bills win with a game winning field goal by Lindell 26-23.

Peyton Manning looked utterly disgusted and disappointed at the end of the Colts vs. Jags game. The Colts lost on a game winning field goal by Josh Scobee but the defense is what lost the game for them. They just could not stop the run. MJD and Fred Taylor had field days against the Colts front 7. Taylor rushed for 121 yards on 26 carries and MJD had 107 yards on 19 carries and a touchdown. Manning did not have his best game as he did throw 2 interceptions 1 which was taken to the house. But it seemed like he just was not in sync with his favorite target Marvin Harrison. Colts lose 23-21

Cortland Finnegan had another interception his 4th of the season as well as a touchdown, 99 yards to the house the longest in Tennessee Titans history. Kerry Collins threw his 35,000 yard and led the Titans to a decisive win over the Texans. The Titans are now 3-0 and sit atop the AFC South.

The New York Giants are tied with the Dallas Cowboys in the NFC East who both are at 3-0 on the season. The Giants edged the Cincinnati Bengals in over time on a John Carney field goal. Eli Manning proved to be Mr. Clutch in overtime hitting 2 passes perfectly one to Plaxico Burress and then a 30 yard strike to Amani Toomer to set up the game winning field goal. Giants win 26-23.

The Sunday Night Football games had the Dallas Cowboys on full display and the running duo of Marion Barber and Felix Jones just dominated the Packers. Aaron Rodgers finally cooled off and didn’t have an out of this world game like he has had 2 weeks in a row. Greg Jennings did have 115 yards on 8 catches but that was it. The big WR for the Cowboys was not T.O but Miles Austin. 2 receptions for 115 yards and a touchdown.

Monday Night was Broadway Brett against the winless Chargers. Well at the end of the night the Chargers were no longer winless. The New York Brett's seemed unable to stop Rivers and the offense of the Chargers. Rivers threw for 3 touchdowns and now leads the league with 9 touchdowns. Ladanian Tomlinson although hurt did play and scored 2 times both on the ground. Antonio Cromartie is showing everyone why he is arguably the best corner in the league intercepting Favre and taking it to the house as well. He added another interception later in the 4th quarter as well. Favre was able to throw the ball but the Chargers defense was too much and held the jets to 29 points as the Chargers threw up 48.

Week 3 proved that kickers are very valuable as there were 4 games that relied on kickers to win; Buffalo's win over Oakland needed the services of Ryan Lindell. Jacksonville's victory over the lonely Colts is thanks to Josh Scobee. The New York Giants overtime victory is due to John Carney and the Bucs overtime victory is credited to the leg of Matt Bryant.

MVP's Of Week 3 are as Follows:

Ronnie Brown - 17 rushes 113 yards 4 touchdowns, 1 pass 19 yards 1 touchdown

Reggie Bush - 18 rushes for 73 yards 1 touchdown, 11 receptions for 75 yards 1 touchdown

Michael Turner - 23 rushes 104 yards 3 touchdowns

Marion Barber - 24 rushes 142 yards 1 touchdown

Larry Johnson - 24 rushes 121 yards 1 touchdown
